GSQMRC Holds Family Fun Day Races

Fifty-nine cars took the one-twentieth mile Lil’ Wall Stadium on Sunday, August 21 for the Garden State Quarter Midget Racing Club’s Family Fun Day.  The skies looked ominous as the day got started but the drivers would get all their races in before the heavens would open up on the track.

Six different drivers took the checkers in the six divisions for the day.  During the race day, the drivers and their families were treated to a dunk tank, free hot dogs from club member Johnny Luhrs and his hot dog truck, a water spray from the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company accompanied with the chance to tour the trucks and some time on the Fun Bus.

The club will resume another Fun Night on Friday night, with Twin 20’s for each division.  The racing will begin at 7 PM and will coincide with the Cruise Night at Big Wall Speedway that evening.  Regular racing will also be held on Sunday, August 28^th with the track being closed Labor Day weekend for the Keystones in Honeybrook, PA.
