Joey Bailey Takes Two Grands National Championships

Nineteen members of the Garden State Quarter Midget Racing Club took the trek to Oaklane Quarter Midget Club this past week for the QMA Eastern Grands.  The week started with the novice divisions completing qualifying and mains before the headliners took to the track.  Seventeen divisions competed for the coveted National Title for drivers ages 5-17.  Qualifying took place on Tuesday, July 26.  

Saturday saw A mains for all divisions.  Twelve Garden Staters took to the banks of the track on the day.  Joey Bailey would win two of his three divisions to become National Grands Champion in both Heavy Honda and Heavy 160; problems would his car would prevent him from taking his third win on the day.  Miranda Carr would take a podium finish of second in her Junior Half in her last Grands of her career.  Brendon Bock would also garner a second in Light 160.  Brandon Grosso earned a podium finish of third in his Light A quarter midget.

The club will resume racing this Sunday, August 7^th with a regular racing event.  For information, please visit our website at www.gardenstateqmrc.com  Racing begins at 10 AM; admission is free and refreshments are available on the premises.
