'Tis the Season

It's the holiday season - and here at the Goddard School of Wall, we are getting into the Christmas spirit! We believe that giving back is important this time of year. After Hurricane Sandy, we have seen how our families can come together to support each other - and what a beautiful thing it is. 

For the month of December, we are having two different fund raisers. Tomorrow, December 4th, we are having a Pajama Day for children's cancer. Our kids are coming to school in their pajamas in honor of our fundraiser this month. We are sponsoring Ella, a 3 year old girl from Hoboken, NJ with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We are collecting donations all month long, and all the funds raised will go towards helping Ella battle cancer. 

Born on March 14th 2008, Ella Barere was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia two months after her third birthday. She was immediately admitted to Hackensack UMC under the care of Dr. Michael Harris, head of the pediatric oncology team. She had a cancer port surgically implanted in her chest to ease IV treatments and began chemotherapy. There have been many bumps in the road, but Ella's strength and bravery, and the support of her big sister and brother, Sophia and Jackson, see her through. With 6 months of intensive treatments behind her, and two and a half years ahead, Ella's smile is an inspiration to all who know her. 

We are also having a Toys for Tots collection this month. We are asking families and members of the community to donate new, unwrapped toys. These toys will go to less fortunue children and families this Christmas.
