Wall High School Film Fest Coming Up!
A little about the film I've been producing for this year's film fest...
Hey everyone!
As a student in Wall, and one who is very passionate about the art of film, it seems timely that my first blog for Wall Patch would be just a couple of weeks before 's annual film festival, to take place on Monday, May 16. So I thought I'd start off my film blog by telling you guys a little bit about what I have in store for the fest!
The film is titled "Ted Polowski: Home for the Holidays" and it is a mockumentary-style comedy short which chronicles the story of fictional "Ted Polowski," a creepy yet well-intended gym teacher (played by high school senior Will Avon) as he pursues a job at Wall High School.

As you can probably imagine, with a plot-line like that... the possibilities for the film were endless, and some of the situations Ted Polowski gets himself into are hilarious. Additionally, having the full participation of the staff and student body has helped to take the brilliant concept and turn it into a brilliant movie.
I can't take credit though - the Ted Polowski character was conceived completely by Avon when he dressed up as a 1970s era gym teacher for Halloween in 2009, and thus Ted Polowski was born. I only got the idea to make a film out of the obnoxious character when Avon had dressed up for another video project in the TV Class at the high school in October 2010.

Production for Ted Polowski began in November and over the last six months has included on-location shooting throughout the shore area, and included the talents of over 50 community members.
The film is almost finished! And I'm expecting it to run about 30 minutes long. Along with Will Avon, the film also stars juniors Bryan Wild, Matt Pisarcik & Nina Gamgort. Anyone interested in attending this year's film fest can purchase tickets in advance for $4, or at the door for $5. The showing begins at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium on May 16.
