Brick Man Drives Car Into Retention Basin In Wall, Charged With DWI

Patrols arrived on scene and encountered Kevin J. Scott standing outside his vehicle with all the tires flat, uninjured.

A 42-year-old Brick Township man was arrested Wednesday after driving his vehicle into a large retention basin in Wall, police said.

At approximately 7:08 p.m., members of the Wall Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of Lakewood Road and Algonquin Trail for a vehicle that had ran off the road into a large retention basin.

Patrols arrived on scene and encountered Kevin J. Scott standing outside his vehicle with all the tires flat, uninjured. Scott was acting irrational and boisterous on scene to members of the Wall Township Police Department, police said.

Scott was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana under 50 grams by Patrolman Amy Drackwicz. He was transported to the Wall Township Police Department where he was processed and subsequently released as per John’s Law.

Ptl. Jason Costantini and Lt. Ken Brown assisted with the arrest.
