Cops: Toms River Man With Prior Trouble Busted In Wall For Stealing 'Cutting Torches,' Other Equipment

A 23-year-old Toms River man indicted and charged with threatening to kill a man two years ago has run into trouble again.
Brian K. Funkhouser was charged with steeling mechanical equipment, such as cutting torches, tools and other materials from a Wall Township business on Sept. 15, police said.
Funkouser, of Lawrence Avenue, was charged with stealing two car alternators, a pump analysis kit, a drill, two cutting torches and brass motors from Tiger Construction, police said.

Two years ago, Funkhouser was indicted on a count of making a terroristic threat and unlawful possession of a weapon, in an Oct. 25 incident in Manchester.
In that incident, Funkhouser was accused of threatening the victim, identified only by the initials A.S., by threatening to kill the victim’s father. He also was accused of possessiong a Remington 870 Express shotgun without having obtained a firearm purchaser identifier card.

Funkhouser was on probation at the time of the Sept. 15 incident. He was arrested on Sept. 30 on $15,000 bail, police said.
