PHOTOS: Lantern Tours At Allaire Village
Popular nighttime tours continue this weekend
Candlelight tours at will continue for a second weekend Saturday, offering a glimpse of the historic village at night. Period actors and interpretors will lead groups through the lantern-lit streets, explaining the holiday customs of the 1800s. All the buildings of the historic village will be open, including the Blacksmith Shop and the Howell Works Company Manager James Parshal Smith’s home, where interpreters will demonstrate hearth cooking.
The 90-minute Holiday Lantern Tours begin at the Row House Visitors Center where participants will be given an introduction to the Howell Works Company. Tours leave every 15 minutes and are limited to groups of 30.
Candlelight Lantern Tours require advance reservations and ticket purchases. Tickets are limited.
