Man Indicted In Wall On Drug Charges Nearly A Year After Traffic Stop

A Point Pleasant Beach man and a Lavallette man were indicted on drug charges this past week nearly a year after their car was stopped on Route 35 and Warren Avenue in Wall, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.

Justin Alia, 20, of Point Pleasant Beach, and Benjamin Keiser, 20, of Lavallette, were charged on Jan. 2, following a motor vehicle stop on Dec. 31, 2013, police said.

They were indicted Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a false ID card, court records say.

On Dec. 31, Patrolman James Cadigan stopped a vehicle operated by Alia. The car was impounded pending the application for a search warrant on the vehicle which was granted on January 2, 2013, police said.

Subsequent to the search warrant execution, Alia and Keiser were each charged with possession of marijuana over fifty grams, possession with intent to distribute over fifty grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were processed and released pending their court dates.
