Man Robs Parkway Rest Area Gas Station At Gunpoint

The man, who was wearing a mask, forced employees to open the safe.

An armed man wearing a mask robbed the gas station at the Garden State Parkway’s Monmouth Service Area Saturday night, according to a report.

The Asbury Park Press reported the man, who had a black handgun, ordered the station’s three employees to the ground and took their cell phones during the robbery, which happened at the rest area in Wall shortly before 10:30 p.m., State Trooper Chris Salvato said.

The man then forced the employees to open the station’s safe and fled with $3,000, the report said.
