Politics & an Earthquake -- Perfect Together

Today in New Jersey history:

February 2, 1865: A “people’s convention” met in Trenton to voice opposition to the monopoly on the transportation of freight and passengers between Philadelphia and New York City granted to the Camden and Amboy Railroad years earlier by the state legislature.

February 2, 2009: An earthquake that measured 3.0 on the Richter scale rocked Morris County at 10:34 PM.
