In May 1950, Father Aloysius Carney, Reverend David Coddington and Rabbi Gershon Chertoff, all WWII veteran chaplains and NJ clergymen, met at a synagogue in Elizabeth, NJ for the dedication of an army print commemorating the four chaplains who went down on the Dorchester.
