TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 34 Closed; Atlantic Avenue Shut Down, Police Say

WALL, NJ -- (UPDATED, 5:45 p.m.) Detours that were in place on Route 34 at the Garden State Parkway in both directions have been cleared, according to authorities.

The state Department of Transportation website 511nj.org show traffic is flowing again in the area.

Motorists were being urged to avoid Route 34 Sunday morning after the road was closed due to downed power lines, according to reports on the Jersey Shore Scanner News site.

Additionally, Atlantic Avenue is closed in both directions in the area of Atlantic Farms, police said.

There are detours in place on Route 34, according to 511nj.org.
