FEMA Caseworkers Searching for Hurricane's Victims
Township trying to follow applications for assistance.

Warren residents and businesses who were impacted by the power outage following Hurricane Irene in August may qualify for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, but they'll have to apply first.
The deadline to file is Oct. 31, and to help make sure potential victims are aware of the assistance available, the agency has dispatched caseworkers to interview people in the affected areas—including three canvassing Warren.
During Thursday's Township Committee meeting, Township Adminstrator Mark Krane said the caseworkers were focusing on meeting first with businesses impacted by the hurricane. Local shops and restaurants along Mountain Boulevard were without power for more than five days after the Aug. 28 storm.

However, Krane said the township was only aware of one applicant for the assistance when many more would qualify.
The township is hoping to help track any applications for help from FEMA—any residents or businesses who have applied or are considering applying should contact Krane's office at 908-753-2500, ext. 250.
