Warren Police Save Local Suffering From Heroin Overdose
This incident marks the third Narcan assisted save by the Warren Township Police since January 2016.

WARREN, NJ — A third person suffering from a drug overdose since January has been saved by Warren Police using Narcan.
On Aug. 21, Warren Township Police responded to the report of an unresponsive male on Old Stirling Rd who had possibly suffered a narcotics overdose.
Sgt. Daniel Gleeson, Officer Will Loften, and Officer Angelo Barbieri found an unconscious 26 year old male, lying on the floor of his basement.

He was unresponsive, extremely pale, with shallow breathing and blue lips, police report.
Police determined the man was suffering from a Heroin overdose and began using Narcan — a medication that reverses opiate overdoses and in most cases revives the victim.

The man was revived several minutes after getting one half-dose of Narcan treatment. He was transported by the Warren Township Rescue Squad and Paramedics to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset, Somerville for further evaluation.
