Alleged Drunk Driver Swerving on Rt. 22, Almost Hits Cop Car in Green Brook
When the Somerville driver finally pulled over, she put the car in reverse and it began to roll backwards towards the cop car: police.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — A Somerville driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated among other charges following a traffic stop for swerving in and out of lanes on Route 22 in Green Brook, police reported.
On Jan. 9, a Green Brook patrol officer saw a red Kia, driven by Silvia Romero, 45, of Somerville, traveling west on Route 22, swerve out of its lane, crossing the white lines multiple times, Green Brook Police reported.
The officer pulled behind the car and activated his emergency lights to conduct a motor vehicle stop prior the Warrenville Avenue off ramp, however Romero didn't stop to the emergency lights and sirens, police reported.

The officer followed Romero for approximately one-half mile on Route 22 and watched as her car continued to swerve in and out of its lane. When she finally pulled into the shoulder and stopped, the vehicle was put in reverse and began to roll backward toward the patrol vehicle, according to the report.
The officer reversed his vehicle to ensure that it was not struck. He then approached the vehicle, which was still in reverse, and told Romero to put the vehicle in park.

At this point the vehicle again began to roll backwards toward the patrol vehicle, but stopped just before striking it, police reported.
After conducting field sobriety tests and through his observations, the officer Romero under arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was also issued the following summonses: Refuse to Submit to Chemical Tests, Traffic on Marked Lanes and Reckless Driving.

Conroy, 18, of Roselle Park, NJ was arrested for possession of marijuana, after officers responded to the Washington Rock Park to close the gates and observed an occupied vehicle in the parking lot. Conroy was charged with Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana and released.
