Another 'Creepy Clown' Sighting In North Plainfield

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Another "creepy clown" sighting was reported in North Plainfield on Tuesday.

A man wearing a clown mask was reportedly frightening children who were walking home from school, North Plainfield Police report.

When police arrived they found a man sitting on the porch at the alleged location at 33 Summit Avenue. The man claimed he was wearing a clown mask but was only showing it to his friends and did not intend to alarm anyone, according to police.

This is the second "creepy clown" report in North Plainfield. A sighting was also reported on Monday around 1:30 p.m. on the corner of Duer Street and Howard Street.

The clown skipped in the victim's direction and then left, North Plainfield Police reported.

"Creepy clown" sightings have been reported across New Jersey. Other New Jersey towns with clown sightings include Bound Brook, Roselle Park, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, Deptford, East Hanover, Glassboro, Clearview, Kingsway, West Deptford, Vineland and Toms River.
