Mother Used 9-Year-Old Daughter To Shoplift In Watchung: Police
The merchandise was concealed by the daughter after the items were selected by the pair before leaving without paying, Watchung police say.

WATCHUNG, NJ — A Newark mother was arrested for shoplifting with her 9-year-old daughter at a Watchung store, police report.
On Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m., Qutrilla Hargrove, 39, and her 9-year-old daughter were seen on security cameras at Target on Route 22 West leaving the store without paying for merchandise that totaled $255.17, police reported.
The merchandise was concealed by the daughter after the items were selected by Hargrove and the daughter, police reported.

Hargrove was transported to Watchung Police Department along with her two children, police said. She was charged with shoplifting and later released on summonses with her children and a court date.

On Sept. 4: DSW Shoes reported a shoplifter who fled from the store with merchandise. The suspect was described as a 40 to 50 year old black man who was 5'9" tall weighing approximately 190 pounds wearing a pink shirt, black skirt, red shoes, black head covering, black glasses and carrying a black purse. The suspect fled from the store with shoes valued at $247 and police are investigating.
On Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.: DSW Shoes reported a shoplifter who fled from the store with merchandise. The suspect was described as a heavyset white, or possibly Hispanic middle-aged female wearing a blue V-neck T-shirt, a white skirt and carrying a brown purse. The suspect removed shoes from the store but the value is yet to be determined. Police are investigating.
On Sept. 4 at 1:35 p.m.: Aleksandre Davitashvili, 41, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested at DSW Shows for shoplifting $279.97 worth of shoes. He was transported to Watchung Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged with shoplifting and given a court date.
On Sept. 2 at 6:14 p.m.: Modell's reported a shoplifter who fled from the store with merchandise. Modell's described the suspect as a black female in her 50s wearing a white shirt and a raincoat. They reported that the suspect left with a large shopping bag filled with merchandise but the total retail value is yet to be determined. Police are investigating.
On Sept. 2 at 5:10 p.m.: DSW Shoes reported a shoplifter who fled from the store with merchandise. The suspect was described as a black female wearing light colored jeans, a white shirt and a light colored raincoat. The suspect removed shoes, socks and jewelry valued at $722 and police are investigating.
On Sept. 1: Cinthia Sierra, 29, of North Plainfield was arrested at Green Brook Police Department under the strength of Watchung Municipal Court no bail warrant. She was arrested and transported to Somerset County Jail.
On Sept. 1 at 4:42 a.m.: Aziz Speller, 30, of Rahway was arrested at Rahway Police Department under the strength of a Watchung Municipal Court warrant. He was transported to Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail and refused due to medical issues. He was then transported to RWJ Somerset for medical treatment and released on his own recognizance.
On Aug. 30 at 10:08 a.m.: Princess Brown, 23, of Plainfield was arrested following a traffic stop on Terrill Road. Brown was found to have a suspended New Jersey's registration and suspended driver's license and two active warrants out of Newark for $1,000 and Piscataway for $342. Brown was transported to headquarters, processed and released on both warrants.
On Sept. 1 at 12:27 a.m.: Armani Julien, 26, of Newark was arrested following a suspicious incident at Chipotle Mexican Grill on Route 22 East. He was found to have two active warrants out of Glen Ridge Borough for $750 and Ledgewood Township at $256. Julien repeatedly refused to get out of his car and turn it off. He was forcibly removed from the car and arrested for resisting arrest. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance with summonses.
On Aug. 29 at 1:06 p.m.: Imani Alexander, 24, of Orange was arrested for an active East Orange Municipal Court warrant for $100 following a motor vehicle stop on Terrill Road for an expired inspection and maintenance of lamps. Alexander was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting full bail and cited for driving with a suspended license.
On Aug. 29 at 2:26 a.m.: Aaron Williams, 25, of Newark was arrested for having a warrant out of Union County Sheriff's Department following a traffic stop on Route 22 West. He was transported to headquarters, processed and issued one citation for driving while suspended then transported to Somerset County Jail.
On Aug. 28 at 10:58 p.m.: Jason Hedgeman, 24, of Hillside was arrested for having two warrants out of Hillside for $425 and Hillsborough for $353 following a traffic stop on Route 22 East. He was unable to post bail on both warrants and was released on his own recognizance for Hillside and transferred to Hillsborough on their warrant.
On Aug. 28 at 10:16 a.m.: Jerome Alston, 46, of Irvington was arrested for having an active Irvington Municipal Court warrant for $100 following a traffic stop on Route 22 East. He was transported to headquarters, processed for contempt of court and released after posting full bail.
