Two Drunk Drivers Arrested On Rt. 22: Police
A North Plainfield and a Phillipsburg man were both arrested for drunk driving on two separate incidents in Green Brook: blotter

GREEN BROOK, NJ — Two people were arrested for drunk driving on Route 22 in Green Brook, police report.
Green Brook Police blotter items:
- Marvin Vladimir Romero Flores, 33, of North Plainfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated on July 19 at approximately 5:10 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East.
Green Brook officers were dispatched to the area of Route 22 East and Warrenville Rd. for a report of a reckless driver.

One officer observed a black Ford F350 pickup truck that matched the description just prior to Washington Avenue. The vehicle was observed just prior to the jug handle with about three car lengths of space between it and the next vehicle ahead of it.
He then observed the pickup truck start to move forward in traffic. The officer noticed the vehicle move to the right side of the right lane, and fail to maintain its lane. He then observed the vehicle make a sudden abrupt correction which brought the vehicle to the left side of the right lane. He also observed the vehicle brake abruptly, tapping the brakes as it moved forward. The officer activated his emergency over head lights and initiated a motor vehicle stop.

The vehicle came to a stop on Route 22 East after Washington Avenue. The officer approached the vehicle from the passenger side. From the passenger side of the vehicle he could smell a heavy odor of alcoholic beverage.
After conducting field sobriety tests and through his observations, the officer placed the Flores under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
- Troy E. Daniels,25, of Phillipsburg was arrested for driving while intoxicated on July 23 at approximately 10:01 p.m. on Route 22 West.
Green Brook officers were dispatched to a 911 call for a reckless driver in the area of Route 22 West and Cramer Avenue. The caller reported that the vehicle, described as a gold Buick sedan, was traveling west on Route 22 and was swerving all over the road.
The vehicle also stopped in the middle of the intersection at Cramer Ave and began backing up. Officers located a Buick which appeared to be gold in color stopped in traffic at a red traffic signal in the right lane of travel on Route 22 West, at the intersection with King George Road, and initiated a motor vehicle stop.
Upon acknowledging the stop, the vehicle in question exited the roadway into the parking lot of Bowlmor Lanes, 380 Route 22, at a high rate of speed.
After the vehicle came to a stop in a parking space in front of the building, Troy immediately opened the driver side door and exited the vehicle in a stumbling manner.
The driver was ordered to return to the vehicle. Through their observations and field sobriety test results,
Troy was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
Other blotter items:
On July 21 at approximately 4:25 p.m.: Green Brook officers responded to the Ivory Tower Motel for a report of a transformer fire. Upon their arrival they observed the wooded area between the Ivory Tower Motel and Bowlmor bowling alley in flames.
The fire was centered around a utility pole where patrol observed a downed power line. This power line caused the Ivory Tower and Bowlmor to lose power.
PSE&G was called out to shut down power to the pole so that Green Brook Fire Department could begin to extinguish the fire.
PSE&G arrived and cut power to the utility pole when GBFD along with NJ Forest Fire Service extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire was unknown however it did not appear to be cause by a transformer.
No damage to the structure of either business was caused, but significant damage was done to the utility pole. Once the scene was deemed safe by GBFD patrol cleared the scene.
