Frelinghuysen Postpones Telephone Town Hall Meeting

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen was slated to speak with constituents

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen's (NJ-11) telephone town hall was slated to speak with constituents on the phone Tuesday, but the telephone town hall has been postponed until 5 p.m. Monday.

Constituents interested in participating call one of Frelinghuysen’s offices at 973-984-0711 and 202-225-5034 and provide them with a telephone number which will then be added to the list.

Constituents can also visit frelinghuysen.house.gov and sign up for the call. They will receive a phone call Monday and be patched into the call.

Frelinghuysen, a Republican, held a last-minute, invitation-only telephone meeting last month where he reportedly said he would move to block funding for a Mexican border wall. His office has denied this claim.

The last such call he hosted was March 1 and it was very awkward at times.

Callers and Frelinghuysen often spoke over each other and interrupted one another because it was difficult to tell when people had finished speaking.

Many callers attacked Frelinghuysen's voting record and called him a "moderate." Some said his voting record was too closely aligned with the Trump administration's wishes, something Frelinghuysen denied.

"I have always voted my conscience," Frelinghuysen said.
