Local Mom Starts Kids Clothing Business

Alecia Bicher hopes the clothes she's featuring with Happy Kids DotDot Smile will appeal to both kids and parents.

WAYNE, NJ — Alecia Bicher knows how difficult it can be to get kids to like their clothes.

Bicher is starting her own online kids clothing outlet, Happy Kids DotDot Smile, in the hopes of getting quality clothes to area kids.

"If you go to a store in the mall, they just pump out the same type of clothes in different sizes," Bicher said. "It's the same three styles of dresses, shorts and T-shirts."

Bicher, whose son attends school in Wayne, also said that many online retailers cater more to girls and than boys, which leaves fewer options for parents.

Bicher buys the clothes she's selling wholesale. The clothes are uniquely-styled, Bicher said, and once a style is sold out, she cannot get more.

The clothes are "sensory-friendly" with no tages and are "easy-on, easy-off," Bicher said.

Bicher said she plans on doing live "unboxings" online when new clothes arrive in the hopes that both parents and kids will be enticed to get the clothes.
