Passaic County Tech Student Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools confirmed that a student tested positive for COVID-19, and shared details on what happens now.
WAYNE, NJ — A Passaic County Technical Institute student has tested positive for the coronavirus, a spokesperson for Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools told Patch Tuesday.
According to Director of Communications Sandra Woods, a ninth-grader from Passaic tested positive for the coronavirus, but was asymptomatic. Faculty were notified on Friday, she said, but it wasn't disclosed when the positive test was recorded.
The Wayne school has been operating on a hybrid model with students separated into cohorts. In a statement to Patch, the district said the student and all other classmates and faculty who they came into direct contact with, will quarantine for 14 days and shift to remote learning "until cleared to return to school."
