WATCH: Wayne Boy Injured In DUI Crash Gets Ball From Charity Basketball Game
Matthew Polifonte was critically injured when a drunk driver crashed into the minivan he was in on Ratzer Road.

WAYNE, NJ — A critically injured township boy was given the ball from the Harlem Magic Master's charity basketball game in Wayne this weekend.
Matthew Polifonte was injured when a drunk driver crashed into his family's Toyota Sienna on Ratzer Road last month.
According to his family, Polifonte was still in a coma in the hospital Monday when he turned 10. He was in critical condition when the crash occurred, police said, but his condition had stabilized somewhat following the crash. It is unknown if he is still in a coma.

More than $80,000 has been donated to Polifonte's family to help pay for medical bills.

The Harlem Magic Masters presented the ball from their annual charity game this weekend to Necole Jadick, Polifonte's principal at Theunis Dey Elementary School. Mayor Chris Vergano also attended the presentation. The game is an annual fundraiser of the Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse.
