• New Train Tunnel Between NJ, NY Takes Big Leap Forward (patch.com) — Weehawken residents are a step closer to faster, more reliable train service as boring machines prepare to dig the new Gateway rail tunnel right up to the access shaft on the Weehawken–Hoboken border. The $16 billion project will add new tracks under the Hudson, easing chronic delays on the aging, Sandy-damaged North River Tunnel used by NJ Transit and Amtrak.
