Missing Puppy Returned To West Windsor Family: Police
Baxter was reunited with his family after being missing for a week.

WEST WINDSOR, NJ — A dog who had been missing for a week has been reunited with his family. After an intensive day-and-night search that lasted seven days, Baxter was found, West Windsor police said Sunday night.
Baxter went missing on Saturday night, June 23, police previously said.
“Little did we know Baxter was secretly training for the puppy Olympics in sprint running because this dog could run,” police said Sunday night. “After hope began to fade, Missing K9 Search & Rescue was brought in. Barb and Sue went to work and despite countless volunteers getting in the way, they were able to track and capture the Olympian safely. These ladies are amazing and true professionals.”

The police department, countless volunteers from the community and the ACO were all involved in the search.
“I cannot thank all the residents and spotters for their hundreds of phone calls which kept everyone on Baxter's trail. Without the kindness of so many, I don't think Baxter would be home safe,” West Windsor Police Chief Robert Garofalo said. “Baxter’s family would like to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts. They have been involved each and every day walking and putting up flyers everywhere. They never gave up hope and never stopped looking.
