Driver Killed After Car Strikes Trees In Deptford: Police

Authorities identified the victim as a 30-year-old man.

DEPTFORD, NJ — A driver died after losing control of his vehicle and crashing Wednesday night in Deptford, authorities said.

State Police identified the victim as Shaquile Banks, 30, of Bridgeton.

Troopers responded to the collision at 11:10 p.m. on Route 55 North. Banks was driving northbound in a Honda passenger vehicle when he lost directional control and ran off the roadway to the left, said Tpr. Troy McNair.

The vehicle then struck multiple trees, McNair said. As a result, Banks sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, with no additional information available as of this writing.
