Rescuers Honored For Saving Woman From Drowning in Delaware River
A rescue was needed after a woman's car somehow ended upside down on April 28 in the Delaware River in Gloucester City.
GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ — State Senator Bill Moen recently presented three members of law enforcement and three members of the community with proclamations that honored them for their roles in rescuing a woman in Gloucester City this past spring.
The proclamations were given to Gloucester City Sgt. Carlos Depoder, Gloucester City Officer Sean Gartland, Gloucester City Officer John Bryszewski, Jr., and citizens Gene Blemmings, Michael Natrin and Stratis Taniakos during a Gloucester City Council Meeting on June 23.
"It was the quick thinking and actions taken by these six men that ended up saving a life last April," Moen said. "This group entered the Delaware River to rescue a motorist whose car had plunged off a pier."
