West Deptford Man,72, Dies Due To Coronavirus

As of Wednesday, there have been 715 cases of the coronavirus and 25 deaths in West Deptford since the beginning of the pandemic.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — A 72-year-old West Deptford man has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Gloucester County officials announced on Friday.

He is the 25th West Deptford resident and 307th Gloucester County resident to die after testing positive for the virus. The county also announced that an 88-year-old Washington Township man has also died.

The county also announced 151 new cases on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 11,246 since the beginning of the pandemic. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

As of Friday, there have been 715 cases of the coronavirus in West Deptford since the beginning of the pandemic, according to numbers provided by the Gloucester County Department of Health.

The following information is available concerning the new cases identified in West Deptford on Wednesday:

  • Two 28-year-old men;
  • A 26-year-old man;
  • A 39-year-old woman;
  • A 61-year-old man;
  • A 5-year-old girl;
  • Two 65-year-old women;
  • A 52-year-old man;
  • Two 29-year-old women;
  • A 32-year-old man;
  • An 86-year-old woman;
  • A 33-year-old man; and
  • A 35-year-old man.

As of Friday, Gloucester County has conducted 104,320 total tests. Of these cases, 93,074 have come back negative.

Gloucester County is expecting the number of cases to increase. Officials remind residents that social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
