Man Who Killed His Parents In Their West Deptford Home Receives Sentence: Report

Ryan E. Coles was found guilty in March in the 2016 beating deaths of his parents, nj.com reported.

WOODBURY, NJ — A West Deptford Township man who was found guilty in March on two counts of murder in the 2016 deaths of his parents was recently sentenced to 80 years in prison, nj.com reported.

Ryan E. Coles, 34, was charged shortly after his parents — Edward M. Coles Jr., 58, and Rosemarie Coles, 55, — were found dead in their Pennfield Drive home in August of 2016, Patch previously reported.

An autopsy showed the couple had died of blunt head trauma.

Coles had lived with his parents in their West Deptford home up until their death, police said at the time of Coles' arrest, Patch's previous reports continued.

Coles had told detectives his parents had hurt him because they were angry he did not finish chores at their house, nj.com and Patch previously reported. Detectives told him he had no evident defensive wounds.
