The township was voted No. 20 on South Jersey Magazine’s list of Top Towns for 2016.
To determine its rankings, South Jersey Magazine uses a formula that takes into account combined average property value and taxes, crime incidents reported per 1,000 residents, and high school performance.

West Deptford was in the top 20 of the large town rankings, which takes into account towns with more than 10,000 people.
Harrison Township was the highest ranked town in Gloucester County, checking in at No. 5. Woolwich was No. 7, and there were a total of six Gloucester County towns in the top 25.
