Woman Arrested In Deptford Marshall's Shoplifting Out On Bail
Chanel Barnes must stay away from Marshall's and report under the strictest level of pretrial release, according to nj.com.

A Philadelphia woman who was arrested charged with shoplifting during after a police-involved shooting at a South Jersey strip mall has reportedly been released until trial.
Despite a lengthy criminal history that includes shoplifting, a judge ruled that a prosecutor had not proven the need to keep 38-year-old Chanel Barnes in jail, the Courier Post reports. She must stay away from Marshall’s stores, and report every week under the highest level of pretrial release.
Her detention hearing was held one day after officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office Fugitive Investigations Unit arrested 42-year-old Raoul Gadson in Philadelphia.

Gadson, of Philadelphia, had been at large since Saturday, when 36-year-old LaShanda Anderson was fatally shot by police during a shoplifting incident at the Marshall’s Store in Deptford Crossing.
Anderson was shot when she attempted to run over two police officers with her car as she and Barnes were attempting to escape, according to the prosecutor's office.

Police said Anderson ignored their commands and drove a rented Nissan Armada right at the two officers. One of the officers, a patrol captain and 27-year veteran, was struck by the open driver-side door.
Anderson then tried to deliberately run over a second officer, a sergeant, a 17-year veteran, who took out a gun and fired three shots, according to the prosecutor's office. Two of the shots hit Anderson.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted on June 10, 2018, by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as “multiple gunshot wounds.”
Barnes was arrested and is being detained at the Salem County Correctional Facility pending Thursday's hearing.
Gadson was fighting with security at the store when the women attempted to escape, the prosecutor's office said on Wednesday. Gadson was being detained in Philadelphia, and will make an appearance in Superior Court, Woodbury when he returns to New Jersey.
The shooting is under investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles A. Fiore has said his office will conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation, under the supervision of the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.
On Wednesday, Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office First Assistant Prosecutor Paul Colangelo said investigators are continuing to interview witnesses, gather and analyze physical evidence and will pursue all leads to find answers and present findings to the public.
