2 Dogs Shot, Killed By Cops Trying To Stop Mauling Of Owners In Union County
Three people were hospitalized from the dog attack in Elizabeth on Tuesday morning.
ELIZABETH, NJ — Two dogs were shot and killed by Elizabeth Police Officers trying to stop a mauling attack on the owners of the dogs, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office(UCPO).
On Tuesday morning, authorities were called to Amity Street in Elizabeth for an incident of dogs fighting that led to the owners being attacked by the dogs, said UCPO.
Elizabeth Police Officers fired their weapons in order to stop the attack, which resulted in the death of two dogs, according to authorities.

Three people were taken to Trinitas Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries they received while trying to separate the dogs.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
