2 Pedestrians Hit By Tractor Trailer, Killed In Union County
The fatal crash was reported on Sunday night.
ELIZABETH, NJ — Two pedestrians were hit and killed by a tractor-trailer while crossing a Union County intersection on Sunday night.
The pedestrians were crossing the roadway at Routes 1&9 and Maple Avenue when a tractor-trailer was stopped at the light, said Elizabeth Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras.
The truck then drove forward when the southbound light turned green and the pedestrians were fatally hit, said Contreras.

The driver remained at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
The time of the crash or the identities of the pedestrians were not immediately released.
