4-Alarm Fire At 3-Story Building Displaces Residents In Union County

Emergency responders helped to relocate the residents from the building fire on Friday morning.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A four-alarm fire at a three-story building in Elizabeth has displaced multiple residents on Friday.

At around 6:30 a.m., a call came in of a three-story residential over commercial building fire on the 600 block of Elizabeth Avenue, said Elizabeth Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras.

The four-alarm fire is currently under control.

"Relocation was on scene, but we don’t have a number yet," said Contreras.

According to News 12, 20 residents were displaced and two firefighters suffered minor smoke inhalation.

It is unclear if there are any injuries to residents.
