Closure Of Decades-Old Westfield Lumber & Home Center Is 'Very Upsetting'
The independently-owned True Value store has been in business since 1979.

WESTFIELD, NJ — After more than 40 years, Westfield Lumber & Home Center will be closing its doors for good.
Donna Sevell Leber, the owner of the independently-owned True Value store, told Patch she is closing because it is time to retire.
"It's horrifying," Leber said of having to close. "I've been here since '79. It's very upsetting but I need some time. I paid my dues."

An official closing date for the location at 700 North Ave. E has not been announced. The store will remain open through August and possibly September as inventory is cleared out.

Everything is currently on sale.
The closing is hitting Leber hard who said she has had customers that would come in as kids with their parents to shop and still shop there now.
"I appreciate everyone," said Leber. "We had great customers."
