Another Expungement Clinic Coming Up For Union County Residents

More than 300 residents attended the county's first clinic, to get information about clearing past convictions off their criminal record.

ROSELLE, NJ — After more than 300 residents came to Union County's first expungement clinic in the spring, the county has another opportunity coming up for people looking to clear minor convictions off of their record.

The free clinic will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Warinanco Sports Center in Warinanco Park, located at 1 Park Drive in Roselle. Attorneys will be present to help people navigate the expungement process, and find resources available to help them with obtaining housing or employment.

Commissioner Chairman Sergio Granados announced the second clinic as an extension of his “Second Chance” initiative, through his Chairman’s theme of “Building a Stronger Union County” for 2023.

“Our mission is clear: to break down the barriers that minor convictions impose, unlocking new employment and housing opportunities for our county residents,” said Granados in a statement. “This clinic will serve as a guiding light for those struggling with past convictions, providing the necessary support and resources for navigating the expungement process."

This event is exclusively for Union County residents, and attendees must provide proof of residency for admission. Pre-registration is also required at www.ucnj.org/expungement.
