Anti-Semitic Act At Westfield Elementary School Prompts Call For Investigation

Senator Bramnick called on the Attorney General to investigate after a swastika was found scratched into a chair at Back-to-School night.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) is calling on the New Jersey Attorney General to investigate an anti-Semitic act at Tamaques Elementary School in Westfield.

"Antisemitism and hate will not be tolerated in our Westfield community," said Bramnick. "I am asking for the New Jersey Attorney General to investigate this serious incident so we can uncover the perpetrators who committed this despicable act and hold them fully accountable."

A parent of a student discovered the swastika scratched onto the back of a chair during Back-to-School night on Sept. 19, said Westfield Police. Read More: Swastika Scratched Into Classroom Chair Reported In Westfield

The chair was then removed from the classroom, said police.
