Breaking News: Falling Tree Limb Almost Hits Man
Tree partially falls in municipal parking lot, scratches car.
A falling tree limb almost hit a man walking through the parking lot behind Starbucks around 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
Kelly Bucolo, a witness who parked near the tree, said the tree appeared to be in good condition when she and others heard a crackling just before the limb fell from the tree. The man, who had parked near the tree as well, was walking under the tree with his daughter and was almost hit. The daughter was further from the limb when it fell.
"He just missed getting hit in the head," Bucolo said shortly after the accident.

The almost victim left the parking lot shortly after the limb fell, according to Bucolo. She said he appeared shaken from the incident. Bucolo and her niece were far enough from the tree to avoid being hit.
The tree limb narrowly avoided smashing a silver Toyota Camary parked under it. Outer parts of the limb were touching the car and scratches are on the car near the tree. The scratches, on both the hood and front driver's side panel, appear consistent with what would have been caused by the falling tree limb.

The tree limb was removed by the Department of Public Works by 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
