On May 12th, Old Guard member Allen Hamilton will lead a hybrid presentation and group discussion of the American Revolution. Mr. Hamilton has studied many works about the leaders of the revolution and the military campaigns. Topics will include politics; British and colonists; logistics of war; key battles won and lost; and Nathanael Greene, quartermaster, and head of the Southern Command.Allen took early retirement from Exxon to become an independent investment consultant. Allen has served as president of the Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering, and chair of the International Cost Engineering Council. Summit Old Guard Speaker Program - The American Revolution

In keeping with its longtime traditions, the Hale Speaker Series will return soon for the 17th
year with talks by four individuals with strong ties to Westfield. 
The series begins on Wednesday, May 13, with a speech titled “Westfield…The Old Days,” by one of the town’s most noted residents, Warren Rorden. A 1954 graduate of Westfield High School and a veteran realtor, Rorden will relate what he enjoys most about the town. 
The hour-long Hale talks, held at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at Westfield Memorial Library, are free and open to the public with pre-registration. The programs also are available on WML YouTube.
The speakers are introduced by committee member Barbara Hale, whose father, Lee, founded the series after his late wife, Anne.After his passing, the series was renamed in both of their honors. 
Other committee members include Marcy Lechner, chairman; Linnea Rhodes, Mary Orlando, Sherry Cronin, Ellen Albertson and Tina Lesher.
The series, hosted by The Friends of Westfield Memorial Library, receives grants from The Anne and Lee Hale Fund and The Glasser Foundation.

Join us for a conversation with William Palm, the 5th Artist-in-Residence to serve at Westfield Memorial Library. His artwork will be up until the end of May. See it before it leaves the library!
William Palm is a New Jersey–based painter working in watercolor, ink, and oil. His work explores light, atmosphere, and memory through scenes of coastlines, railroads, and everyday landscapes. Blending traditional techniques with a contemporary sense of color and mood, Palm’s paintings invite viewers to pause and reflect on familiar places and quiet moments.

Where the Light Begins: Woodbridge Community Choir Spring Concert

Hosted by the Borough of Kenilworth, the Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic from 14th St. to 23rd St. and transformed into a giant block party from 10&nbsp;am-4:00 pm. This event will feature quality exhibitors, a special crafter’s section, lots of great food, kiddie rides, a kids’ area, live music and performances, local merchants &amp; civic organizations, and a large classic car show. The car show starts on the west end of the event at 14th Street.

SHOPPING Shop till you drop along the Boulevard with over 100 quality exhibitors selling jewelry, handbags, sports collectibles, clothing, home decor, and more. There is a special section featuring handmade crafts from local and nearby crafters and artisans, with unique, one-of-a-kind items.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT Whether on stage or under our music tents, you will enjoy the sounds of some very talented cover bands, soloists, dancers, demonstrations from the local karate &amp; dance studios, and more. It’s also a chance to kick back and take a break in the music section, filled with tables and chairs for your use. This year we have 2 great bands: Cold Sweat from&nbsp;10am-1pm and Theatre Rock from 2pm-4pm.&nbsp;
KIDS ZONE Plus lots of fun stuff in the kids’ zone all day, where children will enjoy a section filled with kiddie bounce rides, slides, interactive blow-ups, face painting, sand art &amp; kids’ games, and temporary tattoos, just to name a few.
FOOD TRUCKS As you stroll along the Blvd, stop to have a bite to eat and sit at tables in our live music area. Come hungry and enjoy gourmet food truck favorites like sausage &amp; pepper sandwiches, cheesesteaks, kettle corn, chicken fingers, ice cream, zeppoles, shish kabobs, gyros, fresh-cut fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade, Italian ice, and many other great gourmet foods.
CAR SHOW This year’s event will again feature a car show of&nbsp;Custom…Classic…Street Rod…Muscle&nbsp;Cars&nbsp;in front of Harding School (Enter from Boulevard &amp; North 14th&nbsp;St./use&nbsp;426 Boulevard in your GPS). Set up starts after 10 am. Registration&nbsp; – Day of Show.&nbsp; Cars must be registered by 1:00 PM to be judged. Trophies for Winners!
