Summit Old Guard Speaker Program - COBOL, The Language of Dinosaurs

Our speaker will be Ron Weinger. After an early career as an aerospace engineer, Ron transitioned to ‘application programming’ - a field he pursued for the remainder of his long career and still strongly identifies with today. He contends that everyone who attends his presentation, regardless of background, will sufficiently understand COBOL and its environment, to be able to write a coherent COBOL program, and why that still matters.

The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational organization that serves men of retirement age. We meet Tuesdays, 9:30am, at the New Providence Presbyterian Church located at 1307 Springfield Ave – we encourage visitation, and all are welcome. Our motto is “Come for the Programs.
