Car Worth $110K Stolen From Westfield Residence: Police Reports

WESTFIELD, NJ — Two suspects forced their way into a Westfield resident's home early last week and took the keys to their luxury car before stealing the $110,000 vehicle from the driveway, police said.

Westfield Police included information about this incident, and several other notable calls for service, in their weekly police blotter.

These incidents occurred between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16, 2023; you can read more on Westfield PD's Facebook page.

On Dec. 10: A resident in the 800 block of Coolidge Street reported a vehicle had been stolen from the home's driveway. Police arrived, and determined that suspects had pried open a rear window around 5:45 a.m. that day to get inside the home. "A key fob was then taken from the residence and two suspects exited the same window before stealing the motor vehicle from the driveway," police said. The stolen vehicle's estimated worth is $110,000, and police did not note its make and model.

On Dec. 11: Police arrested a 37-year-old woman who had outstanding warrants out of Newark Municipal Court.

On Dec. 16: A resident on Sunnywood Drive reported a suspicious incident just before 1 a.m., and said an unknown person tried to get into her home by pulling on the door handle. "After realizing that the door was locked, the suspect shined a light at the window and then fled the scene," police reported. "There was no damage to the residence and no entry was made."
