Westfield, N J-- Compass SchoolHouse, located in Westfield announces it will offer a full day kindergarten program to begin in September.
“Based on research and conversations with current Compass parents and alumni, the desire for a full day kindergarten in our community is very strong,” said Sue DeWeever, Executive Director of Compass SchoolHouse.
“Compass’s new full day kindergarten program will not only academically prepare students for first grade, but it will help them acquire fundamental concepts and skills to adapt to the ever-changing environment around them for the rest of their lives.” DeWeever added, “We look forward to continue providing a quality education for young children, as well as addressing the needs of our Compass families and community.”

The kindergarten class size will be no larger than 15 students with a lead teacher with a degree in Elementary Education and a teacher’s assistant. The kindergarten curriculum will include the arts, music, physical education, foreign language, library and technology. Full day kindergarten hours will be 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Compass will also offer SUPER 75, an optional 75 minutes of class at the end of the school day. Available Monday through Friday, parents can choose the specific days that work best with their schedule.

Additionally, for the first time Compass SchoolHouse is opening enrollment for its summer camp to all children in the community. Current Compass and non-Compass students with birthdays between Oct. 2, 2009 and Jan. 31, 2016 are now eligible to enroll in Compass Summer Camp, which begins June 13.
