Crash Leads To DWI Arrest Of Driver In Westfield
An attempted car burglary and a warrant arrest were also reported recently in Westfield, according to the police blotter.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A DWI arrest, attempted car burglary, and warrant arrest were reported recently in Westfield.
Westfield Police Blotter from Feb. 18 to Feb. 24:
On Feb. 20 at 2:57 a.m.: Westfield Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 700 block of Oak Ave.and found the driver to have an outstanding traffic warrant out of Springfield Municipal Court in the amount of $3,000. The driver, Kristopher Legones, 37, Westfield, was released R.O.R. after being processed at police headquarters.

On Feb. 21 at 11:35 p.m.: Officers Donovan and Picciano responded to the 600 block of Hanford Place on a report of a motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle into an unoccupied, parked vehicle. During their investigation, they placed Roger Stone, 73, Mountainside, under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Stone was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober adult.
On Feb. 22 at 2:43 p.m.: A resident on Terrace Place reported that someone tried to burglarize their vehicle while it was parked in the overnight hours. The actor(s) tried to get into their vehicle and during this attempted entry damage occurred to the door handle as the actor(s) were using some type of prying tool. The cost to repair the criminal mischief is unknown. There were no items taken from the vehicle, nor was there any entry to other vehicles on the property.
