Driver Dies After Crashing Into Tree In Union County
The fatal crash was reported just after noon on Tuesday in Summit.
SUMMIT, NJ — A driver is dead after crashing into a tree in Summit on Tuesday afternoon, said authorities.
On June 13 at around 12:18 p.m., Summit Police were called to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Orchard Street at the intersection of Harvard Street in Summit.
Officers determined that a 51-year-old Union woman driving a 2005 white, four-door Toyota Camry was driving east on Orchard Street at a high rate of speed when her vehicle hit a tree at the corner of Harvard Street, according to authorities.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Atlantic Health Systems Telemetry Unit at Overlook Medical Center.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Summit Police Traffic Bureau with assistance from the County of Union Traffic Enforcement Unit Accident Reconstruction Investigators.
