Fatal Union County Shooting Remains Unsolved 7 Years Later
The Union County Prosecutor's Office is re-releasing surveillance footage of a person of interest in the case that is still being sought.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Authorities are re-releasing a video of a man connected with the fatal shooting of a Plainfield man in hopes of solving a 7-year-old case. (Watch the surveillance video below)
Dec. 29 will mark the seventh anniversary since the homicide of 32-year-old Shamar Coleman and police are asking the public for information and help in identifying the alleged shooter, acting Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James Abney.
Coleman was shot multiple times at Seafood Rama on the 1000 block of East Second Street in Plainfield at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2016. He was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The murder remains under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and Plainfield Police Department.

In the video, a person can be seen exiting and entering the passenger side of what seems to be a small Volkswagon sedan parked outside the restaurant around the time of the shooting.
The person was wearing bright blue pants, white sneakers, a dark facial covering, and a hooded sweatshirt that appeared to be black on the bottom and light gray on the top.
Investigators are actively pursuing all leads, and anyone who may have seen this individual in
the area around the time of the shooting or who has information about his identity or
whereabouts is urged to contact the Union County Prosecutor’s Office’s Homicide Task Force
