Fire Tears Through Home In Union County
The fire broke out on Liberty Street in Clark. Firefighters from Clark, Union, Rahway and Westfield all came out to help.
CLARK, NJ — A fire ripped through a home in Clark on Monday afternoon causing extensive damage.
The fire was reported at 2:23 p.m. at 62 Liberty St. Clark Firefighters arrived within 5 minutes and found heavy fire conditions on the outside left of the house that extended into the attic, said Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa.
"An aggressive attack by all fire personnel on the scene brought the fire under control," said Cerasa.

No injuries were reported to the homeowner or firefighters. The home sustained heavy fire and water damage, said Cerasa.
Along with the Clark Fire Department, mutual aid at the scene included a Union truck, Rahway Engine, and a Westfield Engine. Standing by at Fire Headquarters was a Linden truck, Union Engine and an Elizabeth Engine.

The Clark Police Department, Clark Emergency Squad, and a County emergency service unit were also on the scene.
The Union County Fire Investigation team is investigating th ecause and origin.
