WESTFIELD, NJ — Franklin Elementary School students in Westfield donated a truckload of approximately 400 pounds of candy to be sent to troops overseas.
The candy was donated on Nov. 18 to the American Legion, which will arrange for final transport to the troops.
“Our students have been so generous with their donations,” stated Franklin Principal Dr. Eileen Cambria. “Learning to help others and to acknowledge the sacrifices of our troops is especially timely during the month of November when we remember our active military and veterans and are thankful to all those who provide us care and support.”
