Three club patrons were rushed to the hospital after the gunman fired through the front door following an argument, police said.
LINDEN, NJ — Two men have been sentenced for their roles in a 2022 shooting inside a Linden nightclub that sent three people to the hospital, officials said.
East Orange residents Najir Paige, 29, and Sharif Evans, 26 had both pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the Aug. 6, 2022 shooting at Menga Lounge. Judge Thomas Isenhour handed down their sentences on Dec. 8, said Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Linden Police Chief David Hart on Friday.
Officials said Paige retrieved a gun from Evans's vehicle after a dispute inside the club, and fired numerous rounds through the front door, injuring several patrons. Evans drove Paige away from the scene and tried to hide the vehicle involved, authorities said previously.
