Hedgehog & Feather Theatre Co. Announces Auditions, 2013-14 Season

A spooky double feature 'The Mummy-The Wolfman' will kick off the season.

Theater-goers and young thespians can mark their calendars! Hedgehog & Feather Theatre Co. has announced its 2013-14 season line-up as well as auditions for its frightful fall production.

Just in time for Halloween, the Westfield-based theatre company will present 'Creature Double Feature II : The Mummy - The Wolfman,' a show of young actors performing the spooky classics for all audiences.

Auditions for actors in grades 5 through 9 will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Parish Center, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, corner of Westfield Avenue and First Street in Westfield. For additional details, visit Hedgehog & Feather's website.

December will bring the third annual production of 'Amahl And The Night Visitors.' A classic one-act opera about a poor crippled boy who meets the Three Wise Men as they travel across many lands to follow the Star of Bethlehem is a holiday favorite for the whole family that has been enchanting and inspiring audiences for decades, according to Hedgehog & Feather's Ty Jacobs. Two performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 at Holy Trinity Church, Westfield.

In the spring, Hedgehog & Feather will bring to life another popular children's literary classic: Roald Dahl's 'Fantastic Mr. Fox,' about a sly father fox who must provide for his family and his animal friends - all of whom live in an area of three devilishly disgusting farmers, Boggis, Bunce, and Bean, who have vowed to stop the fox thief and put an end to all wild animal life in the region, according to Jacobs. This production is not a musical and will be cast with both adult and youth actors as the characters require.
