Juvenile Armed With A Knife Charged In Westfield: Blotter
Police also reported seeing three men in the driveway of a Westfield home and chasing them as they fled in a stolen SUV.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A report of threats by two men, including one with a knife, led to arrests in Westfield, according to the police blotter.
On Feb. 13 at 1:17 p.m., a victim told Westfield Police that they were threatened by two males, one armed with a knife.
The victim provided a physical description and information regarding the vehicle they left in.

A matching vehicle was located by Sgt. Tango and stopped on Shackamaxon Drive near Rahway Ave. Additional Westfield Police arrived at the motor vehicle stop.
An investigation led to the arrest of two juveniles for assault, weapons offenses, and CDS(controlled dangerous substance) distribution as well as other criminal charges.

The juveniles were taken to Westfield Police Headquarters and processed. The juveniles were committed awaiting further determination.

On Feb. 11 at 3:54 a.m.: A Westfield Police Officer was patrolling the area of the 1800 block of Boynton Avenue when he saw 3 men walking down a driveway of a residence. The men saw the officer's patrol vehicle and ran into an awaiting SUV. The driver of the SUV then fled the area at a high rate of speed with the officer following. The SUV was confirmed stolen from another jurisdiction. The officer pursued the fleeing vehicle into Clark where the pursuit was terminated. A follow-up investigation found that no burglary or attempted burglary to the residence, nor the vehicles parked in the driveway happened at the address where the suspects were seen. Additionally, a further investigation in the area determined no burglary or attempted burglary to any residences or vehicles parked in any of the driveways in the immediate area occurred.
On Feb. 12 at 12:27 a.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop and investigation in the 500 block of West South Avenue, Julian Pinzonrocha, 40, Brooklyn, NY was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Pinzonrocha was released after being processed to a sober adult. Pinzonrocha was issued motor vehicle summons and was given a future court date.
On Feb. 12 at 11:26 a.m.: A resident of Settlers Lane reported being a victim of fraud. The resident said they saw fraudulent activity in the amount of $30,000 attached to their name from a credit agency reported through Equifax. An apartment located in Miami, FL was rented using the victim's information without their permission.
On Feb. 12 at 4:50 p.m.: Tyler Rocha, 26, Westfield, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on West Grove Street and Boulevard on the strength of two outstanding warrants. Rocha had an active warrant out of Clark Municipal Court as well as an active warrant out of Rahway Municipal Court. Rocha was released on his own recognizance (ROR) roadside for both warrants with new Clark and Rahway Municipal court dates.
On Feb. 14 at 12:19 a.m.: Kevin Soriano, 25, Roselle, was arrested following a call for service in the 100 block of East Broad Street on the strength of a Roselle Municipal Contempt of Court Warrant in the amount of $750. Soriano was subsequently released roadside on his own recognizance with instructions to appear in Roselle Municipal Court at a later date.
On Feb. 14 at 10:47 a.m.: Richard Nelson, 40, Orange, was stopped while operating a motor vehicle on West North Avenue near Tuttle Parkway for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Fanwood Municipal Court. Fanwood Municipal Court authorized Nelson to be released on his own recognizance with a new municipal court date pending. The traffic warrant was for the amount of $500.
On Feb. 15 at 4:40 p.m.: The manager of a business located on the 1100 block of West South Avenue reported a shoplifting that had just occurred. A female suspect concealed various cosmetic products in a black shopping bag while inside the store. The suspect then exited the store and left the area in a vehicle. The total monetary loss reported at this time was more than $300.
On Feb. 16 at 8:26 p.m.: Rey Delarosa, 55, Elizabeth, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on East South Avenue, near the intersection of Livingston Street, on the strength of outstanding Elizabeth Municipal Contempt of Court (COC) Warrants totaling $1,100. Delarosa was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently released on his own recognizance (ROR) with an upcoming Elizabeth Municipal Court date.
On Feb. 16 at 11:10 p.m.: Westfield Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Park Street near Carleton Road. During this investigation, Juan Herrera-Estrada, 66, Rutherford, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was subsequently released to a sober adult after processing and being issued the appropriate motor vehicle summons.
