Man Falls 2-Stories Off Ladder, Airlifted To Hospital In Union County
The 70-year-old man was reportedly two stories high cleaning windows on the outside of a Westfield home when he fell from a ladder: Police.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A 70-year-old man was airlifted a hospital after he fell from a ladder while working on the outside of a home in Westfield on Wednesday, said Westfield Police Chief Christopher Battiloro.
At around 12:10 p.m., the man was reportedly two stories high and cleaning windows on the outside of a home on the 700 block of Lenape Trail when he fell, said Battiloro.
The man sustained traumatic injuries and was reportedly unconscious at the time of the 911 call.

The patient was treated at the scene by the Westfield Police and Fire Departments and the Westfield Rescue Squad, as well as Atlantic Health System Paramedics, and taken to a helicopter landing zone established by the Westfield Police Department on the athletic field at Roosevelt Intermediate School.
Roosevelt students were confined to inside the school while this event occurred.

From there, the man was taken by New Jersey State Police (NJSP) via helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Roosevelt Intermediate School is one of Westfield Police's pre-designated and approved landing zones for the NJSP.
The fall is currently under investigation by the Westfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
